This is a popular Thai song called “Or Jao Oei” (Oh my dear in English) played by my beautiful and talented wife Malida McPherson on the traditional Thai instrument called a “Kim” (similar to a hammered dulcimer).

There is a version of this traditional instrument all across southeast Asia and China. What is so strange is there is a almost identical traditional instrument called a hammered dulcimer that is very common in Appalacia In the southern part of the United States. I would love to know the history and how that occured.
